In Hawaiian culture, a symbol is believed to represent the good fortune brought by a guardian spirit or 'aumakua. These symbols are said to be unique to each individual and can take the form of animals, objects, or even natural phenomena. The 'aumakua is considered to be a family protector, often passed down through generations, and is believed to offer spiritual guidance and protection to those it watches over. The concept of 'aumakua is deeply rooted in Hawaiian mythology and continues to play an important role in Hawaiian culture today.
