As I was getting ready for my Princeville market, the sky began to darken and raindrops started to fall. Instead of feeling discouraged, I found myself getting excited. Rain often means a rainbow, and I couldn't help but think of the beautiful viewpoint overlooking Hanalei.
So I drove there, hoping I wasn't too late.
As I stepped out and looked toward the mountains, there she was—a rainbow stretching across the sky in brilliant colors. After the grayness of the rain, seeing her appear felt almost magical.
Standing there, I was reminded that sometimes we need the darker moments, too. Without the rain, we might not notice the rainbow quite the same way. Life is much like that—it's the difficult and quiet seasons that teach us to appreciate the moments of light and happiness when they come.
That rainbow was a simple reminder to be grateful for both—the rain and everything that follows.
