After an incredible day exploring the mountains with some of my favorite people, we started our drive back as the sun began to disappear behind the ridges. We were tired, happy, and still talking about the day when I noticed the sky beginning to change.
Wispy clouds stretched across the horizon, catching the last light and turning shades of pink, lavender, and soft peach. Blue hour—the time of day I love most—was beginning.
And then, as if the sky wasn't already putting on enough of a show, the moon began to rise.
We pulled over and just stood there together, completely caught off guard by how beautiful it was. The colors grew deeper and more vibrant by the minute, washing the valley in this incredible rosy glow while the moon slowly climbed into the sky.
We knew we only had a few minutes before it would all disappear, so we soaked it in—taking photos, pointing things out to each other, and simply standing there in awe.
It felt like the mountains were giving us one last gift before we left.
A beautiful day with my favorite people, ending beneath a pastel sky and the rising moon. I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the day.
