Ke Alaula o Nā Pali — The Sunset Glow Along the Nā Pali Coast
There is something special about being on the Nā Pali Coast as the day begins to settle into evening. After miles of winding along the trail, surrounded by cliffs, flowing streams, waterfalls, and dense green vegetation, I found myself slowing down to take in the landscape around me.
As the sun began to lower, the light changed across the ʻāina. A warm glow settled over the cliffs while the ocean below faded into deeper shades of blue. The familiar landscape felt different in the evening light—quieter, softer, and full of stillness.
Eventually, the sun disappeared beyond the horizon, leaving only the last traces of light along the mountains. The trail back would be dark, but there was something peaceful about continuing beneath the night sky.
For me, this is what makes time on the Nā Pali Coast so meaningful. It isn't just the view, but the feeling of being out in nature, moving at its pace, and being present enough to notice how the landscape changes throughout the day.
