On a beautiful morning in Hanalei, I embarked on a dawn patrol to capture the essence of the ocean and its surfers. As I watched the waves, I noticed a surfer named Chance, who seemed to be waiting for the right moment to get back into the water. It was pure luck that, during the last seconds of my battery and the last time I used my SonyA7 camera, I captured an incredible photo of him. The image shows Chance focused intently on the ocean, looking for an opening to catch the next wave. Suddenly, a good-sized wave started barreling towards him, and he quickly paddled towards it with excitement. The wave crashed on the shore, creating a beautiful salt spray in the air. It was a moment of a lifetime, and Chance was lucky enough to be surfing one of his best sessions ever.
