As Mahina rose above the horizon, I stood quietly at the edge of the sandbar and watched her light stretch across the water. The ocean was calm and restless at the same time, its gentle waves catching the moonlight and carrying it toward me in ribbons of silver and gold.

There was something about that night that made me slow down. The familiar sounds of the ocean seemed softer beneath the full moon, and for a moment, everything felt still. I found myself simply standing there, taking it all in—the cool night air, the water beneath my feet, and the soft glow of Mahina above me.

I have always loved how the moon can make an ordinary moment feel sacred. Standing there beneath her light, I felt connected to something greater than myself, reminded to pause, breathe, and be present. The full moon seemed to hold its own quiet energy, and I let myself simply receive it.

For a little while, there was nowhere else I needed to be. Just me, the ocean, and Mahina watching over the night.
