As dusk settles over the beach, I feel the cool salt air against my skin and the damp sand beneath my feet. The last light of the day fades across the sky, turning the mountains into quiet silhouettes.

Above them, the mahina rises as the ocean moves gently beside me, washing over the footprints left behind throughout the day.

I stand there for a while, taking it all in. I've watched countless sunsets on Kauaʻi, yet I never seem to grow tired of them. Each one feels different, and each one gives me a reason to pause.

These are the moments I want to remember—not just for what I saw, but for how they made me feel. Standing barefoot in the sand, surrounded by the ocean, mountains, and mahina, I feel grounded and deeply connected to home.

For a few quiet minutes, I don't think about anything else. I'm simply grateful to be here, exactly where I am.
