Twelve miles of rugged trail, nearly 3,000 feet of elevaation gain, and more than a few moments when I wondered how much farther I could go.
The trail wound through steep switchbacks, quiet forests, and cool streams that offered brief moments to pause. With every turn, new valleys opened below me in shades of emerald and blue. I was tired, but surrounded by a kind of wild beauty that made me keep going.
Then the trail opened to a secluded beach.
I walked toward the water and finally stopped. As the sun sank, the sky filled with crimson and gold, casting a warm glow across the mountains and ocean. Salty mist drifted through the evening light, and for a moment, everything felt still.
Standing there, exhausted and grateful, I realized the miles were no longer what I would remember. It was this feeling—the quiet beauty of having made it there, and the reminder that sometimes the hardest paths lead us somewhere unforgettable.
