Barefoot, I make my way through the cool, damp earth, feeling mud soften beneath my feet as I step over roots and smooth stones. Tucked away in the greenery, the waterfall still feels much as I remember it—surrounded by ferns, moss, and wildflowers growing freely along the water’s edge.

I’m brought back to summers when I came here with friends to escape the heat, laughing as we jumped into the cool, refreshing water. When the sun was high overhead, its light filtered through the trees and danced across the surface, making the water shimmer before flowing quietly downstream.

Returning here reminds me how some places hold pieces of who we once were—and how comforting it is to find them again.
