As I approached the final stretch of the trail, I noticed a small side path tucked away in the greenery. Curious, I decided to follow it. With every step, the sound of trickling water grew louder until I emerged into a small clearing.
There, a large boulder gave me the perfect place to sit and take it all in. The waterfall cascaded down the rocks in front of me, surrounded by lush greenery and the quiet sounds of the forest.
I sat for a while, sipping my water and enjoying a musubi as the cool breeze and rushing water washed away the noise of everything else. It was one of those simple moments that made the hike feel completely worth it.
Eventually, I pulled out my camera and tripod. I wanted to capture the movement of the water, so I slowed my shutter speed and experimented with different angles and compositions. I took photo after photo, but none seemed to capture what I was seeing with my own eyes. I kept trying until, finally, I got the shot.
It still couldn't quite capture the feeling of actually being there, but it gave me something to remember the moment by.
As I packed up and made my way back, I felt grateful that I had followed that little side path. Sometimes, the most memorable places are the ones you weren't even looking for.
